Former President’s Perspective

Greetings!
Pitch-hitting for Kellie K. for May! Looks like it will be an action-packed
month, with a speaker luncheon, hosted by L-3, our support for the
AUVSI Student competition and a membership drive/mixer the end of the
month!
This is a great time to assess where you are at in your systems
engineering career. What is a discriminator in the profession? The need
for systems engineering continuing education is undeniable. Our June 8
lecture at L-3 will focus on how to obtain an INCOSE Certification. If
ASEP, CSEP or ESEP are on your goal list for 2011, be sure to join us.
Check with your employer as they may have internal programs to assist in
deferring the costs associated with obtaining a Systems Engineering
certification. June’s lecture will help you understand the process and
requirements to obtain and maintain the certifications. This will be an
informative session and only $5 for pizza and beverages. Complete
details are included later in this newsletter.
We will also be participating once again in the AUVSI student competition
15-19 June. This is one of our largest community “give back” events
where we sponsor the welcome dinner for over 200 students, faculty
advisors and volunteers that give of their time and effort to make this a
success.
We will also be hosting an INCOSE Happy Hour 23 June at
Cheeseburger in Paradise, from 5 to 6 pm. INCOSE will buy one drink
and furnish some appetizers for this event. Members and potential
INCOSE members are welcome!
Have a fantastic week!
